Campbell described the Round 14 game as “super duper” as the Bears held the sixth-placed visitors out to record a nil-all draw on Saturday.
“For probably 70 per cent of the game we were the better side – our defence was absolutely magnificent,” he said.
“It’s unbelievable, there’s some things they do you just can’t coach – their attitude and they just want to keep succeeding.”
In First Grade it was although the Bears had all odds stacked against them as they took on the Brahmans in a 12-16 defeat.
Burrangong lost four players to the sin bin over the duration of the game which Campbell said played an obvious part in the outcome.
“For 20 minutes of the game we played with 11 men, it’s hard enough to win with 13,” he said.
“Once again it was a lop-sided penalty count against us, we were probably a bit ill disciplined as well but it takes two to tango.”
Campbell praised the attitude of the First Grade side who showed more desire than previous weeks.
The Bears will spend this week preparing for the Round 15 clash against top-of-the-table Trundle Boomers.
