Injured captain-coach Calum McCaffery said the simple fact of the outcome was that Young were outplayed by a much stronger side in the 10-1 defeat.
“They were by far the better team,” he said.
“In first half they absolutely destroyed us – they had the wind on their side which made it really difficult for our boys to get the ball out of our side.
“We conceded eight goals come half time and our heads dropped.”
Nathan Hislop scored Young’s only goal on the day.
While Young lost several key players to injury, McCaffery said others factors played a big part in the loss.
“We just gave them way too much space, way too much respect, and we didn’t spot what their weaknesses were,” he said.
