It has been a crazy July so far and with still a few days remaining, I would not say it is out of the question for something else to happen.

Locally, the weather has been less than ideal just to say the least.
Thankfully the majority of motorists are driving to the conditions and not doing anything stupid.
It only takes on little slip up, especially in the wet, for something terrible to happen so please be mindful of all those people who will be affected if the worst happens.
While I was driving home just past Chinaman’s Dam after work this week, I was looking at a tree which had fallen on the road and been removed to the side.
I only glanced away for a second, but when I looked up a kangaroo flashed past the front of my ute.
Thankfully Skippy did not stop on the road and no contact was made.
It was a reminder to me that things can happen very fast on the road.

The dust has finally settled on the federal election and I feel a bit disappointed in the result, or lack there of really.
I would have preferred a concise result one way or the other so that the government could go about it’s business in proper.
With the result finishing with no clear cut winner, deals had to be made with the independents to form a government.
What they received for supporting a Turnbull government I do not know.
What the result did for the Riverina was very little.
Incumbent National the Hon Michael McCormack easily won the seat again which did not really do us any favours.
A lot of Coalition policy is likely to be directed towards the seats with very small margins ahead of the next election as they attempt to sure up a majority for the term afterwards.
Mr McCormack has been a very good representative for the Riverina, which is why he won so convincingly.
Hopefully with this being his third term, Mr McCormack can still get the riverina in the government’s eye.
At least we are not in the position the United States is with their forthcoming election.
What a choice they have!
On one hand there is Donald Trump, an egotistical political mad man and on the other is the less than squeaky clean Hillary Clinton.
In America it is not compulsory to vote which may be a good thing because I do not know how you would decide between those two.
Trump is making very bold claims which would likely result in World War 3 while what Hillary is doing under the table nobody knows.

On a not so crazy note, my family came and stayed with me for a couple of days during the school holidays.
They had a great time in Young which I knew they would.
My daughter Lilia especially had a good time.
She made a couple of new friends and hit the town as much as a nine year old can.
Lilia went to the movies which was a treat.
There is no cinema in Parkes with the closest one an hour away in Orange.
Then Lil hit the shops.
It was strange to be sitting in at work trying to earn money while she was going back and forth spending it.
Thanks to everyone who made my family feel so welcome and hopefully they will be back soon.
