They only played a short game that was considered a roll up rather than a game as there were less than the required eight needed to hold the Jackpot but the green was running well and the sun even came out for a while.

Please go along and support this event, and the club. You only need two or three clubs and you don't need to be a long hitter.
The one event that cannot be missed is the Helen Spencer “Trivia Night” on September 1 at the Club. Get a table together, or the club can find you a place. Bring your own nibbles and be prepared for a fun night. This event supports the club and entrants could win lots of 'smarties'.

Junior Rugby League
Four teams in deciders
Tomorrow Young has four teams playing in grand finals at McLean Oval Harden. After a long season, the Under 11, 13, 15 and 16 league tag side have made the premiership deciders in their age groups.
Game times are as follows:
Under 11s - 9.55am; Under 13s – 1.35pm; Under 16 league tag – 2.50pm; Under 15s – 3.50pm.
The S and C Club 11s have been the best team all year in their age, but that doesn't win the trophy. They are a great bunch and very competitive with a large group of players who will definitely give it their best tomorrow.
The Yes Embroidery 13s have built up momentum all year and have played well over the past month. All players will have to stand up and do their individual jobs against a dangerous Hawks side.
The Jewelz and Things 16s league tag side have been one of the top sides all year and played with a great balance of control and flair. The club wish them all the best in their last game of junior football.
The Corcoran Steel Under 15 side are trying to do something very special. Undefeated since Under 10s, they will be looking to complete their set of junior league silverware against a dangerous Cootamundra side that is coming to get them. Although full of quality individuals, the strength of this group is the teamwork they exhibit. If they continue to play for each other tomorrow, a positive result will follow.
I encourage all friends, family and Cherrypicker supporters to head across to Harden tomorrow and support the kids in their endeavours. They deserve a great atmosphere.
Remember to play, cheer and represent the club well on Saturday with fair play, and no personal attacks. I know the Cherrypickers can and will set the standard as far as quality on and off the field.
Remember there is a gold coin donation at the gate for all final fixtures.
As usual for grand final day, the club will hold a sausage sizzle and presentation at the Services club from 6pm. As the 15s play late, some of us may be pushing it to be back, but hopefully some of our 11s dads will start the bbq a bit before 6 for us.
Finally, remember that the presentation for Cherrypickers from Under 10s up is next Saturday, September 3, between 2-4pm at the Services club. All players and families are welcome as the club draw a close on the season.
Go Go the Cherrypickers!!

Penguins claim minor premiership
In their first season since merging with Vipers, the Penguins have claimed the 2016 South West Slopes Credit Union minor premiership with two rounds to go.
The youngest team in the competition have been a colossus all year on an undefeated run.
However, they face their toughest test this week against reigning premiers Red Backs.
Games last week began just moments after hail was dumped on the oval in a bizarre weather pattern that saw teams take the fields in sunshine minutes later.
Red Backs and Cougars played the early match.
Darius Cosgrave put Red Backs up 1-0, before Cougars levelled and then went ahead with goals to Brady Kenny and Liam McLachlan.
This lead was a shock to Red Backs, remedied when a flurry of goals snatched the win. Goals to Natasha Cosgrove, Geoff Palmer, a double to Peter Lister and another two to Darius meant they finished ahead with a dominant 7-2 victory.
The 3pm game pitted Penguins against DTS. The ladder leaders took their time to grind out a win, using their numbers to wear down DTS late in the match. A nil-all first half was only broken after 55 minutes when Brendan Robinson slotted the ball through the tiniest of gaps with a smashing shot to give Penguins the lead. Nathan Sell then looked to put a stop to a determined DTS when he converted a penalty corner for a 2-0 lead with only 10 minutes to go. This proved decisive in a tight game.
The other game had Blues against Bears. Blues needed the go-ahead goal twice to claim the points. William Byrne was the first to score before Brendan McKay squared the match. Angela Noon gave the Blues the win 2-1.
