A 3-2 loss against South Wagga was a disappointing end to the year for the women’s division who had hopes of finishing the season on a high.
Captain Patricia Dawe said while the Lions put in a huge effort, the difference on the day came down to a shortage of numbers and luck falling the way of Wagga.
Goals went to Lisa Bradley and Dawe.
In the men’s division the Lions were determined to secure a win over Tolland in order to qualify them for the Pascoe Plate finals, and that’s just what they did.
Captain-Coach Calum McCaffery said he couldn’t be happier with the 2-nil win.
“It was a phenomenal effort from the boys, especially the backs, to pick up our first clean sheet of the season,” he said. “Throughout the team everybody worked hard for each other.”
Goals to Milo Dowling and Jordan Callaghan.
