The Under 18 Saints had a cruisy start to the finals after winning on a forfeit by the Cowra Blues on Saturday. They now qualify for the preliminary finals to be played against the Bushrangers at Bathurst.
Sadly for the Saintees the result didn’t come so easy and they were defeated 21-16 by Dubbo.
In rugby union the Yabbies had positive results as they defeated Radford and Marist.
The Under 18s earned finals rights with a close 17-15 result, while the 16s kept their opponents scoreless in a 48-nil thrashing.
The wins earned both teams a free pass into the grand final – a huge achievement for the club who boast the only non-Canberra based teams in the finals.
On the Group Nine scene the Under 18 ‘Pickers travelled to Wagga on Sunday in hopes of securing themselves a grand final position.
While Young were defeated 22-18 by the South City Bulls, they have another shot at the title this weekend.
