After the semis were rained out the week before, everyone was very keen that the finals go ahead, rain hail or shine. Unfortunately, it was more the case of the former, with heavy rain the night before and many puddles to be negotiated on the field.

McAlister Motors and IGA were evenly matched. To kick things off, Josh Oehm took an early run from centre back to put a cross in, hitting an IGA defender for an own goal.
Michaela Schiller, goalkeeper in the first half, kept the score sheet clear, even with a dreaded dot shot! Josh Oehm, together with Emma Suitor Clark, Josh Cafe and Declan Summerfield worked tirelessly holding out IGA’s attack, even though Dylan Duffy-Yates was out due to injury, as was Emma McIsaac. The McAlister Motors mid field, Angus Johnson and Frazer Burns, stole the show well supported by Izabella Burns.
A change in goalkeeper saw Declan Summerfield don the headgear, while McAlister Motors lost a sub with Zac Bunt retiring due to illness. Sami Oehm took on the role of left forward.
Beau Hobba, played with great determination. Midway through the second half, Theo Burns out maneuvered the IGA defence to shank a goal in past the keeper, to make it 2-0.
Job Centre Australia had the hard task of battling with Terry Bros Carpet Court (TBCC) who scored in the first 3 minutes to put them on the front foot with a goal to Aidan Pratt after some good early pressure. Brodie Batinich and Ben Schofield were in everything as both teams tried to adjust to the ground conditions by moving the ball quickly. Just when both teams had settled into a good rhythm it was Charlie Duff who turned the game around when he took advantage of a loose ball to smash it in the back of the net way outside the penalty box, a goal to be relived for sure. Strong defense by Mohammad Soltani, one of the most improved players of the competition helped constantly repel TBCC raids to see the game at the half time break locked up at 1 all.
Jono Thompsom used his sensational left foot to put corner after corner in the right spot and eventually Nick Martens was on the spot as he scored for Job Centre Australia to give them the lead. TBCC kept attacking but they were constantly stopped by Jack Castle who was well supported by Will Cameron who was dynamic in goals and was always kept on his toes especially when Patrick Hislop was anywhere near the ball.
Josh Martens played well considering he and his bother Nick both had a bad virus all week. The game was still as intense as ever with both teams giving it there all and it was Macklay Brownlie who calmly slotted home the match winner to give Job Centre a very handy 3-1 lead with 5 minutes to go.
The full-time whistle blew much to the joy of the players and relief of the coach and parents as Job Centre Australia were finally champions for 2016 .Lachlan Mitchell is to be congratulated and thanked for refereeing the game and did a fabulous job.
Under 12s grand final was a great game between Steadfast Homes and Grenfell wasps. Grenfell scored a well constructed goal in the first 15 minutes and Steadfast Homes fought back with a few just missed shots made by Rhys Lacey. Great defense at the backs by Josh Sargent, Charlotte Doldissen, Aidan Hines and Rhys Lacey but on the day Grenfell were deserving winner.
