Despite appearing to steady her rocky relationship with ex-Navy serviceman Keller by opting to remain together at the conclusion of the season finale earlier this week, the couple didn’t last long once filming wrapped up. 

Channel Nine has since revealed the couple broke up just weeks after filming finished six months ago.

"While we connected on a lot of levels – we could have a good laugh together and we have similar morals and values – there were just some behaviours that I couldn't get past," she told Channel Nine’s The Fix. 

"We struggled to connect because I've already established my career. I'm very stable and independent, whereas I feel like he's not quite there at that stage of his life yet."

Ms Heir told the Daily Advertiser she applied to appeared on the show because she “hadn’t really had much luck when it comes to finding love”, saying “having a team of experts match me was very appealing”.

But former contestant Clare Verrall has since claimed couples were not matched by a panel of psychologists as the show claimed, but were instead paired by the executive producer.

Ms Verrall claimed Nine failed its duty of care to her by pairing her with someone with an abusive past, claiming the show ruins lives in the name of ratings. 

“The 'experts' don't make the matches, the executive producer does,” Ms Verrall said in a Twitter tirade this week. 

“There is no psychology behind these matches at all.” 

Despite claiming to utilise the services of psychologists and relationship experts, the high profile social experiment has yielded poor matchmaking results. 

Just two of the 12 couples to appear on the show across its three seasons remain together. 

Meanwhile, Ms Heir has made plans to take time to herself, saying she misses life in the Riverina. 

“I miss the quietness of home,” she said. 

“Last time I was home I went for a run and it was just amazingly quiet, there were no cars and it’s such a peaceful and relaxing place.

“I’m not sure that was something I was fond of when I was younger, but I love it now.”
