Director BreastScreen NSW Debbie Lattimore said the follow-up visit will give women who missed out in September another chance to make an appointment.
Breast screening is a free service for all women in the target age group of 50-74 years.
“Breast screening, also known as mammographic screening, is the process of looking for breast cancer in a population of women who have no symptoms,” Ms Lattimore said.
“If you have a lump or nipple discharge please see your GP.
“With a 97 per cent survival rate when breast cancer is detected early, having a breast screen is vital.”
With a one in nine chance of developing breast cancer, Lattimore emphasised the importance of the twice-yearly screening.
The mobile BreastScreen van will be located next to the Railway Station, Lovell Street. Phone now for appointments on 13 20 50.
