Young’s Blues cricket team, as well as the Jason Sams Memorial Sevens Tournament, received funding from the club ahead of the cricket season.
The Blues – who will compete in the Cowra competition set to begin on October 8 – received a $1500 cheque from the business who has sponsored them for over 25 years.
The Young Cricket Association will use the funds for registration fees and other costs associated with the competition.
Blues’ vice captain, Brendan Croese, thanked the club for their support.
“Once again a special thank you to Dean Cafe and the Services Club for their continued support of local cricket,” he said.
The club also presented Jason with a $2000 cheque to go toward the Jason Sams Memorial Sevens Tournament.
This season organisers are looking at hosting 40 teams with interest from as far as Sydney, Newcastle, Bathurst and Adelong.
Four synthetic grounds will be used during the event to avoid confusion in the case of rain.
“We would like to sincerely thank the Young Services Club for all that they do for us, not just in sponsorship but consistent support in venues and whatever we need,” Jason said.
“Without their generous sponsorship we couldn’t do half the things we do.”
