Support in the competition has been outstanding with baseball associations across the country throwing their support behind the new competition that will see six teams do battle, competing in a ten week T-Ball program catered for children of all sporting skill abilities, on Friday afternoons at Young's Sawpit Gully Oval, where players will be able to compete in the game that lasts just one hour.
Such has been the support coming to the association that the association is able to boast support from Australian Baseball League sides the Sydney Blue Sox and the Canberra Cavalry, as well as support from the Australian Baseball Federation, NSW Baseball and even Baseball Queensland who have all played an assistance role in ensuring the competition is set up and ready for the weeks ahead that await them.
A number of Minor League Baseball and T-Ball sides from the United States of America, which is Baseball heartland, have also expressed an interest in partnering with the association which could see travelling teams from the USA converge on the Young region in coming years.
Much closer to home the Arncliffe Scouts from Sydney are also interested in joining the list of touring teams interested in showcasing T-Ball and Baseball within the area and conduct a number of series with the Young-based organisation.
A few spots remain available for October 14. Registration $90 which includes an Aussie T-Ball participation pack (valued at $150) and a playing shirt designed by one of Australia's leading teamwear companies Blackchrome Sportswear as part of a massive deal between the two that will last the next three-years.
"This was started to provide children another outlet to get out of the house and active,"
- Hilltops Baseball's General Manager Brendon Meynell said.
"While there are still a very limited number of positions left the response we have seen from Baseball Associations across the state, country and the world with these Minor League Baseball sides looking to partner up is outstanding, not to mention the support from the Hilltops Shire Council and off course Blackchrome who have designed some very eye catching shirts for our participants,"
"The Aussie T-Ball program is a fantastic way to get children involved in playing sport, no matter what their sporting ability or previous experience is.
Unlike other sports there is not a massive list of rules making it an easy sport to take up, you hit the ball off a Tee and run, or you stop the ball and throw it in, it really is that simple."
Register online at www.hilltopsbaseball.com with registrations closing this coming Friday. The competition will start the following Friday at Sawpit Gully Oval from 3:30pm.
