Following the win of Regal Ashes at Young the previous Saturday night, the four year old Stonebridge Regal mare stepped out in race eight, the JC Caffyn Plate Indigenous Drivers Invitation under the guidance of Forbes driver Jeff Brown.
Taken to the lead soon after the start, the winner now of seven races from 37 starts led throughout and in doing so defeated Victoria Pass and Lettuceventilate by a convincing margin and returning a winning TAB dividend of $4 for her strong band of supporters.
Not satisfied with two wins in a week with Regal Ashes, the Young combination sent out stablemate Arrived In Time in a similar race and again received the winner’s cheque with the four year old Jeremes Jet gelding driven by Jack Wade.
Arrived In Time returned a healthy $4.80 for his supporters and defeated Blackbetty Shannon and Lettuce Go Pippa, coming from the second half of the field and scoring a tight but impressive win.
Young Harness Racing Club will conduct another meeting this Friday with a heat of the $10,000 AGL Menangle Park “Where Horses Fly” with a strong supporting program including a big Bathurst representation.
