The Young and District Multicultural Association is busy planning the sixth annual end of year celebration to be held on Saturday November 5 at the Young Town Hall, Boorowa Street.

The celebration commences at 12 midday with a concert and sharing of ethnic foods.
Everyone is invited and asked to bring food to share, as this is what we do when we get together in the spirit of cultural sharing and harmony.
The concert program is being finalised and promises to be very diverse and entertaining.
There will be the usual multiprize raffles on the day.
Twenty members of YADMA travelled to Griffith on Sunday, October 16 with Wilkinsons Coach services to enjoy the Citris and Garden Festival.
What beautiful countryside we were fortunate to see on the way, leading to the area of grapes and citrus, which patterned the landscape.
Four other members also met us at Griffith on the day, to have a combined lunch with the Griffith Community Council, arranged between our President Josie Johnson and Griffith President Carmel Verocca.
This has been our first visit with another Multicultural group.
We appreciated their warmth and hospitality, and as usual food was a variety of taste sensations and plentiful and the conversations many.
Our combined countries of origin included Portuguese, Serbian, Tongan, Philipino, Italian, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Australia, Netherlands, Indonesia.
This was such a great success, and a highlight of the day.
During the day we visited the citris sculptures, which covered three blocks in the main street; a great effort by the Griffith community, showcasing their produce.
Coffee was enjoyed at the Rotary Markets, where produce and ethnic foods were on offer, and all to the tune of a country music singer.
Many of our group visited an open garden, which all were very pleased with, ending the day with a trip to a local winery, with its very picturesque grounds.
YADMA members are looking forward to our next coach trip, which will be travelling to Canberra for the Multicultural Festival in February 2017.
YADMA meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month excluding January at 2pm, in the Maimaru meeting room at the Young Town Hall building.
All are welcome to attend, and we hope to welcome new members to our organisation. Membership is $10 individual, $15 for a family.
