What a great day it was.
The weather was beautiful and the greens were running well.
Forty mixed playing members from the Young Bowling Club were there to enjoy a game of Triples with the visitors which meant 66 bowlers took to the greens.
What an interesting day it was discussing the differences and similarities between city and country clubs.
The Winners on the day were Alan Gall (visitor) Bob Ruhl and Don Beare (Visitor)
The visiting bowlers were on a bus tour of the area.
They arrived in Young on Sunday 9.
They spent a lot of the time touring the district as well as playing a game of bowls at Temora Bowling Club.
After playing at Young on Thursday, they left for home on Friday.
Everyone I spoke to was impressed with the area and what they had seen.
Harden President’s Day
What a fantastic day Harden had for their President’s day with teams from Young, Yass, Cootamundra Ex Services and Cootamundra Country Clubs, Boorowa Ex Services and Boorowa Recreation Club, Grenfell and Binalong.
Along with Harden’s teams and the team representing South West District and I did see a Stockinbingal uniform there too although not a whole team.
Robyn Apps who is a past president of South West District filled in for Rosemary Walters who couldn’t be there, to thank Harden for hosting the day.
Donna Cheswell, Harden’s president thanked all for coming and gave the prizes. Yass won the day with a +17 with Boorowa Recreation Club, Runners up.
