Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull on Monday extended the ban until states and territories hash out how to classify the contentious firearm and what sort of permit a gun-owner would require.

Castellaro thinks the government is tackling the wrong issue when it comes to guns.

“What the government needs to do is work harder on cracking down on the illegal guns,” he said.

“If they put more time and effort into home security and safes that would go further to reducing gun related issues rather than banning something that has been around for hundreds of years with few issues associated with its use.

“I personally think that they (government) are blowing up a storm over not much at all.”

The Adler itself is a five shot model of shotgun that costs around $800, which was its key to its popularity, compared to the Chiappa seven-shot model that retails for $1900 which is still legal.
