Actor Ruby Rose ducked out from backstage to take pictures with students as partner Jessica Origliasso prepared for her performance with sister Lisa.
The Veronicas then took to the microphone as Hamish, Andy and producer Jack Post performed AC/DC’s It’s a Long Way to the Top.
The radio stars’ Wodonga gig was the first in a week-long tour as the Cool Boys and the Frontman.
Students chanted Andy’s name as he took centre stage on the bagpipes and was modest before performing a second, 'secret’ song.
“I’m worried … you guys have got a whole formal including after parties – we might peak right now and you might want to go home,” he said.
“But we all know there’s no after-party.”
The evening was the best celebration Marnie Matassoni could ask for to mark her 16th birthday.
“My best friend, Lexi, won the competition and when she told me, I cried,” she said
“Them coming out and being so enthusiastic with us (has been a highlight).
“Having all my friends here is even better.”
Grace Burton, 16, was lucky enough to get a photo with Rose.
“It was so exciting, I’m such a big fan – I’ve seen her in Orange Is The New Black,” she said.
“I was shocked but glad she came out and said hello to everyone.
“I don’t think you can get any better than tonight.”
