Emergency services attended the scene at 10.55am after a silver station wagon travelling west along Gordon Street entered the intersection into the path of an oncoming bus travelling south on Wombat Street toward the CBD.
The bus collided with the mid-passenger side of the vehicle causing it to run off the road into a culvert.
The passenger – a woman in her 80s – was trapped in the vehicle for a short time before being freed by Fire & Rescue. She was airlifted to Canberra in a critical but stable condition, while the driver – a man in his 80s – was conveyed to Young Hospital in a stable condition. The bus driver and passenger weren’t injured in the accident.
