In what has been a year of great change for the communities of the Hilltops Region and particularly for our own Council staff it is now time to reflect on the year past but more importantly recharge the batteries for the year ahead.
The Hilltops employees have done a magnificent job in an environment that has been very challenging, to say the least.
The transition period has meant a significant workload for all involved, and the dedication and determination of our staff to get the job done is to be commended.
As we enjoy the festive season I hope that we can all take the time to enjoy our families, and friends and give thanks to those that serve our country and communities, particularly those emergency service personnel who work during the Christmas period, and are unable to relax and enjoy Christmas as we do.
It is important to reflect on those community members that have been challenged with illness or the loss of loved ones during the year.
My thoughts and prayers are with their families and friends during this difficult time.
I give thanks to the many volunteers who give so generously of their time to make our communities a better place to live and work in.
Your generosity is what makes the difference between a good community and a great one.
On behalf of the Hilltops Council and our Council Staff, I wish everyone a Happy, Holy and Safe Christmas and may the New Year bring good Health and Happiness for all.
Hilltops offices in Young, Boorowa and Harden as well as all Council run facilities will close on Friday December 23, 2016 and will reopen Tuesday January 3, 2016. The only exceptions will be town pools and Tourist Information centres within the Local Government Area.
