She's the former Miss Universe contender, but now the world is her oyster. The new year has a lot in store for the model formerly known as Jesinta Campbell. After a big 2016 where she became an official David Jones ambassador, the local face of Olay Total Effects landed her first Harper's Bazaar cover. Franklin also pulled off the biggest coup of 2016 – her private, intimate wedding. The Franklins married in secret in November, around the same time her first book, Live a Beautiful Life, was selling out and the publisher green-lit a second print run. All details for the nuptials in the Blue Mountains were booked under alias which took even the couple by surprise.

"'Shaz and Tony' were two the names we booked some of the things under," she told Fairfax Media. "The wedding planner came up with that, we found out when we rocked up to the wedding that that's who it was for."

Franklin wore two custom-made dresses gifted to her from renowned bridal designer Vera Wang.

Now Jesinta and former Sydney Swans' player Lance "Buddy" Franklin plan on keeping their private life out of the public eye.

"We don't walk heaps of red carpets together, we're not really into that, we do it for our jobs, if it's a part of our job we'll do it but we don't go out of our way to walk a red carpet or sell a story. People don't actually know that much about our lives; they think they do, but they don't," she said.

Philanthropy will be something that will be a focus for the "Franklin brand" in 2017 when the couple will align themselves with a children's charity.

"So often you see people with public profiles lend their name to things but what is that actually achieving?" she said. "We actually want to do something that is going to make a difference, whether it's one person's life or 50 people's lives but we really want to make a difference."

Alice McCall

The fashion designer reached record revenue in 2016 thanks to Beyonce and McCall's hyper-feminine aesthetic, playsuits that people over the age of 30 can wear. The Hold Up singer was McCall's biggest fan last year.

After she wore numerous pieces of the Australian-designed wares many items in McCall's range sold out. Over the past three months Beyonce has donned more than seven Alice McCall outfits, all of which were showcased on her Instagram account which has an audience of more than 90 million followers.

When Bey pulled on the $450 Senorita dress from McCall's latest collection in November website traffic grew by 80 per cent in one day. The dress in question drove 25 per cent of daily sales.

It's the perfect launch pad for McCall who, in addition to a foray into the Chinese retail market, is now hoping to expand her market share in the United States.

Christian Wilkins

The son of entertainment news king Richard Wilkins, Christian is set to step out from his father's TV shadow in the new year after being signed to renowned modelling agency Chadwick Models. Wilkins jnr, who counts Francesca Packer Barham as one of his best friends, has been hard at work behind the scenes at Nine for the past few years working with the network's social media team which has seen official accounts such as the Channel Nine Style eclipse Seven's.

While his dad was renowned for his impressive mop of hair back in the MTV days, Wilkins' luscious locks rival Rapunzel's. Agents predict "Christian with the good hair" will be in high-demand in the fashion world in 2017.

After a "bittersweet" exit from her David Jones contract in 2016 where she was an official ambassador for the retailer for three years, Cox mustered up the hustle audiences came to know during her victorious 2011 cycle of Australia's Next Top Model.

The day after her final catwalk show for DJs, Cox was announced as the new face of high-street chain Forever New, following in the lucrative footsteps of Kendall and Kylie Jenner. In the coming weeks she'll also be announced as the face of Running Bare's autumn-winter 2016 campaign, the activewear label that is rolling out stores around the US and has recently joined the David Jones stable of designers.

The eldest daughter of make-up dynamo Napoleon Perdis is not even out of high school and is already intent on diversifying her career options. Sixteen-year-old Lianna is now one of her dad's business partners and the creative director and face of his diffusion cosmetics line Total Bae.

Lianna is also an aspiring model and recently signed with CHIC Management in Europe (the family is now based in Greece). She made her runway debut in December and will grace two magazine covers, due out in the coming weeks. In between studies she'll also travel back to Sydney to participate in Fashion Week Australia.
