The course has been closed for two weeks and the result is all greens are back in good form. The club played the January monthly medal last Saturday in fine conditions. Ladies winner was Tania Baldwin with a nett 69. Tania also managed a gobble on the third. Nearest the pin for the ladies to Maree Marland with 450 centimetres on the twelfth. A record of sorts was set on the sixth, when one of the ladies played her ninth stroke from the teeing ground.
Men’s winner was Graeme Bell with a very fine nett 64. A birdie to Peter Freck on the eleventh, half his score on the second. The club will examine the adoption a new local rule in regard to dropping the penalty for accidental movement of a ball, or marker, on the green. This will occur at the next meeting of the club committee. Next week: Single Stableford tees off at 8am.
