Where the 1st Grade boys just missed the semi finals last year they hope to do even better and make it all the way to the big game.
2nd Grade had a fantastic first season in the ACT competition making it all the way to the finals of the 2016 season and hope to dig even deeper and take out the win in 2017.
Teams are already beginning to amp up for their 2017 run with training for this season set to begin on Tuesday January 31 at Cranfield Oval.
The Yabbies are also looking for some fresh talent to join this year’s side. They’re on the hunt for new senior players for the 2017 season and are opening an invitation to anyone interested to join them at training to give the game they play in heaven a go.

The Young Yabbies social touch football is held every Thursday evening at 6.30pm on Cranfield Oval and just like the name implies everyone is welcome to come along to watch or play as little or as much as they like.
A general committee meeting is being held on Tuesday January 17 at the Aussie Hotel. The meeting starts at 6.30 pm and the club is inviting anyone interested in the sport of Gods along as they have a few positions within the club to be filled.
The Young Yabbies Rugby Union Club is currently seeking interested people to fill the rolls of:
- Managers for 1st and 2nd Grades
- Trainers
- General committee to assist with match day duties
Anyone who wants to support a great team or get involved is encouraged to head along to the meeting.
In other Young Yabbies news, Donald Trump wasn’t the only person named President-elect last year with Jack ‘Wally’ Everdale elected as incoming president of the club at the Young Yabbies AGM towards the end of last year.
Wally is keen to keep and maintain the high standards set by outgoing president Mike Hudson and wants to see Young Yabbies become a force to be reckoned with in the 2017 season.
