With 75 kids enrolled in the 10 day program run by the NSW Sport & Recreation at the Young Aquatic Centre instructor Steph Hall has commended parent’s initiative in enrolling their children.
“Swimming is a vital life skill. Kids are always around the water,” Steph said.
The classes offered a range of classes from Mums and Bubs all the way up to more advanced swimmers.
“The kids enjoy coming, it’s something different. They always come with a smile on their face,” Steph said.
Local parent Rebecca Smithers enrolled both her girls into the program this year and has seen improvements in her children’s water confidence since they began the classes last week.
“It’s affordable and I think it’s important. Every child needs to learn to swim,” she said.
