The Saints have lost their current coach to work commitments on the Gold Coast and are looking for a mentor for their young brigade of footballers.
Club stalwart Geoff Harmer said the club is off to a good start with encouraging numbers at training.
“We have an all new committee this year and we are confident that we’ll do well in 2017,” he said.
“We have a lot of young players in their early to mid-twenties as well as what looks like a strong under 17 contingent.
“We just need a strong off-field coach to guide the boys and implement a solid game plan.”
Mr Harmer said recruiting a senior coach at the beginning of the season was a challenge that the club is embracing.
“We’ll look locally first and I’m sure we’ll find someone good,” he said.
“We aren’t worried, once we get a coach everything will fall into place.”
