The standard of play at this event will be very high with some state and national winners playing.
It will be played over four days with the afternoon prior to the start being a practice time for all players.
The whole event will be played in various blocks with players being selected on their various state handicaps so there should be some close results upon completion.
Both singles and doubles games will be played.
Three of Young Croquet Club’s members, Bev and Reigh McCoy with Doug Leabeater traveled to Lithgow last weekend to play in the second gateball tournament held there.
The weather was extremely hot but the organisers had plenty of iced drinks and allowed longer breaks between games to allow players to compete at their best.
They changed the format from team games to a round robin event which allowed the players to have this extra relief.
Club games have been well attended with some of Young Croquet Club’s members playing extremely well.
There will be five of Young Croquet Club’s players going to Wagga Wagga to play in the Carnival held at the end of March.
The annual ‘Doug’s Day,’ held each year will be held in early April with the date to be decided by the committee next week.
Young Croquet Club’s next General Meeting will be held on Friday February 17, 2017 at 1 pm. All are welcome to attend.
