There is a hop-on, hop-off bus, bsas4u,  (bsas4u.com), but judging by the reviews on TripAdvisor, I'd give it a miss. Take a look at the Viator website (viator.com). There are several more promising options.

One of the city's standout attractions is Recoleta, a cemetery crammed with grandiose stone mausoleums, including that of Eva Peron. A night out at a tango show is another must-do, although some are not worth the money. Esquina Carlos Gardel (esquinacarlosgardel.com.ar) gets some of the best reviews but check TripAdvisor to make sure this is your thing.

Go to the Traveller website  (traveller.com.au) and search for Buenos Aires and you'll find several recent articles to help you make the best of your time in the city.

As for where to stay, the city's most exclusive neighbourhood, Recoleta, feels like a little bit of southern Europe, its broad avenues well furnished with cafes, boutiques and restaurants and smart hotels. Palermo is quieter and greener but still lively, with the sub-areas of Palermo Viejo,  Palermo Soho and  Palermo Hollywood as good options for hotels. Another good bet is Las Canitas, the city's most fashionable gastronomic zone as well as a safe and peaceful neighbourhood due to its military training base.
