The business commenced on March 10 ,1980 on the corner of Main and Lovell Street Young.
Peter and Lois began the business, know as South West Carpets in a small shop.
The business got off to a shaky start, when the Terry’s arrived on the first Monday to find that their new showroom was flooded
The business expanded over the years and has been housed in a few different local locations until 1998 when the Terry's decided to buy the building that they currently occupy.
Lois Terry said the expansion of the business has enabled them to support local community groups as well as employ many locals.
“Over the past 37 years we have employed 14 apprentices,” she said. “The past 37 years would not have been possible if it wasn't for the dedication and loyalty of our staff, especially our two sons and their wives.
“The two brothers will now come together as business partners.”
Family support has always played a major role in the success of Terry Bros Carpet Court.
Our daughter Bianca has always been there to lend her support, helping with designing and we feel very honoured to have two sons to continue our legacy and dreams,” Mrs Terry said.
“We know that Ryan and Kurt will take the business to the next level and we would like to thank our customers because our success is due to their loyalty.”
