Young Golf Club wrapped up the South West Slopes Credit Union championships over the weekend with Joel Shields, Paul Blizzard, Geoff Connelly and Bailey Scott-Miller named 2017 champions.

A total of 270 rounds of golf were played with Joel Shields successfully defending his A-grade title scoring 72 holes of 300 in front of James French on 306. After nine holes both players were tied with the final nine holes ending in a dog fight with Shields the victor on the day.
In the B-grade championship Paul Blizzard lead with 253 from his father Col on 256 and Jim Glasheen on 260. Blizzard played solidly for 344 and finished ahead of Glasheen who ended up on 348.
In C-grade Geoff Connelly had a handy lead with 286 from Matt Williams on 291 and Peter Greaves on 296. Connolley played a battle royale with club president Patrick Fitzgerald managing to come out as victor by one shot to end on 386 and Fitzgerald on 387.
The Junior Championship was won by Bailey Scott-Miller.
