Mrs Moncrieff started working in the building when she was a fresh faced 15-year-old.
“I came from school when I was 15 and the Library teacher got me the job,” Mrs Moncrieff said.
Mrs Moncrieff’s favourite memories of working for the business has been working with all the girls and the customers.
“I’ve seen a lot of girls go through and a lot of things happen,” she said.
The current owner of the pharmacy, David Hamblin said that Patsy came with the business when his father purchased it in 1973. “They came as a deal,” he said.
As for why Mrs Moncrieff is retiring now?
“I’ll be 70 next birthday, so I thought it was probably time,” she said.
“We’ll go up north where it’s warmer,” Mrs Moncrieff said.
“Do the gardening and all the housework that’s been neglected over the years.”
