The centre was handed a cheque worth $1,000 that they will use to help those that need it the most in the community.
“Young Crisis Accommodation Centre would like to thank South West Slopes Credit Union for their ongoing support to our annual Fundraiser,” Young Crisis Accommodation Centre’s Gwen Gunning said.
“This helps support clients that are homeless or at risk of homelessness and fleeing family and domestic violence move on with their lives,” she said.
Young Crisis Accommodation Centre was originally established in Young in 1989.
The centre was set up to provide safe and secure accommodation for women and children fleeing domestic violence and homelessness.
Young Crisis Accommodation Centre has now evolved into a multi-purpose service centre that offers tailored support plans for homeless people and those at risk of homelessness, including young people, women, men, individuals and families.
The centre still maintains crisis accommodation for women and women with children.
Young Crisis Accommodation Centre focuses on rapid rehousing and assistance to sustain tenancies.
An important and integral part of the community, Young Crisis Accommodation Centre has helped and supported many people within the community.
