Young's grade 2 and grade 3 face off in pennants

Saturday’s Pennant games saw Young’s Grade 2 and Grade 3 sides opposed for the third time. Once again the Grade 2 side was victorious with Dave Quigley defeating Cliff Traynor 33–16, Russell Boyd losing to Kevin Porter 24–25 and Graeme Edgerton drawing 14–all with Ged Hardman. The Grade 3 side travelled to Cootamundra Country Club on Sunday and despite winning two games they lost overall. Ged Hardman defeated Graham Davidson 18–16, Kevin Porter lost to Ron Rosengreen 12–40 and Cliff Traynor defeated Don Manwaring 24–12. The Grade 4 side lost all three rinks against Cootamundra Ex–Services by small margins. Mark Anderson lost to John Harriott 19–24, Colin Stokell lost to Bob New 20–25 and Peter Slater lost to Jim Deacon 15–18. The Grade 5 side finally got some reward for their consistent play when they defeated Cootamundra Ex–Services 58-56. Bob Ruhl lost to Peter Colvin 18–23, Frank O’Brien defeated Peter Guthrie 19–16 and Kevin Bryant defeated Mick Willis 21–17. In Grade 7 the composite Bribbaree–Young side played at Young and scored a 69–59 win over Boorowa Recreation Club. Trevor Howell defeated Steve Pescud 33–11, Brian McNair lost to Matt Hurst 17–25 and Steve Thomas lost to Ray Poplin 19–23.
