Slick’s owner Tish Healey said respected horseman Richard Webb trained and rode Slick at the nationals after spending a year hauling for a title.
“Richard and Slick have a special bond and they have just got better and better together,” she said.
Mrs Healey said she was extremely excited about the win.
“Slick is one of those once in a lifetime Horses and was a rare find,” she said.
“I bought her in June 2014 from Bendemeer (near Tamworth), she had been turned out in the paddock after her three year old Futurity Year for nearly two yrs and had missed a large chunk of her training.
“I bought her thinking I would put her back into work with a trainer and that she would be my next show horse. We had no idea she would turn out to be the little superstar she has become.”
