Young Bowling Club played pennants on Sunday and the results were a mixed lot for the club with Grade Two defeated, Grade Four winning and Grade Five losing.

Playing at Cootamundra Country Club the home side defeated Young’s Grade two side on all rinks. Bill Manwaring defeated Dave Quigley 20–17, Mike Barber defeated Graeme Edgerton 19–15 and Graham Davidson defeated Russell Boyd 21–15.
Playing in Boorowa the Grade Four side scored a winning score of 68 over Boorowa Ex-services Club on 52. Mark Anderson defeated Peter Watts 28–17, Denis Rosen defeated Chris Grimson 20–17, and Colin Stokell defeated Des Grimson 20–18.
Boorowa Recreation got one up on the Grade 5 Young side scoring 52-65. Kevin Bryant defeated Philip Johnston 22–17, Mark Brownlie drew 20–all with Daniel Cassells and Stuart Freudenstein lost to Robert Styles 10–28.
With the mixed results coming the composite Bribbaree – Young Grade Seven side lost to Harden.
Last Saturday Young Bowling Club played the first two rounds of the District Singles. The results from the morning results were John Goggin defeated Colin Stokell 31–30 in a marathon 48 end game, Peter Guthrie defeated George Somerville 31–19, Brian Madden defeated Mike Barber 31–16 and Damien Miller defeated Bill Manwaring 31–15. In the afternoon Brian Madden defeated Bevan McAlister 31–25, Russell Boyd defeated Peter Guthrie 31–22, Damien Miller defeated John Goggin 31–21 and Cliff Traynor defeated James Freudenstein 31–26. The semi–finals and final of the District Singles will be played this Saturday.
Saturday’s Jackpot play saw 10 players involved with Tim Carpenter and Kevin Porter taking home the Penrose Funerals sponsored vouchers with a margin of 17 shots.
The winners for Sunday morning bowls were Alan Cooke, Barry Close and Bill Standen with a score of 15 points.
There were 20 players on Thursday afternoon. The best score for the day was a winning margin of 25 shots for John Cooper and Terry Mulligan.
Play on Tuesday night in the Guy Pickering Charity Challenge resulted in RLOB Warriors being the overall winners for that division. On Thursday night the Warriors played the Moo Movers – the winners of the Thursday division. In a very close game the Warriors won by one shot with both teams winning six ends. Well done to both teams on their results.
A group from PCYC enjoyed an evening of bowls on Friday night. Lock Stock and Bingle provided entertainment at the club on Saturday night and those in attendance enjoyed the Pizza and Pasta evening.
