Mickilla Lass has good recent form and has the opportunity to break through here. Nathan Hurst has his team performing well at the moment and Kyalla Tee Jay, who ran third last time out, will be in the firing line over the suitable 210 metre journey. Ima Jaymar ran an eye catching third at Canberra last week but the second line draw will be a disadvantage.
The second race of the night will again see the Jeff Brown trained Forest Fury coming in for some support but may be beaten for early speed by last weeks winner Ektoras.
Racing will come back to the 1720 metre start for race three and here the main chances are Its A Bitter Sweet from gate one, All Efflorescent, and Flight Onethreesix. The Maurice Johnson trained Sunofasis ran a good fourth at Canberra last week and with Mark Hewitt on board could be a chance at long odds.
Race four again is over the shorter journey and certainly looks a good race for Give Me Fifty to be driven by in form driver Angela Hedges. The locally trained Thanku Thanku is yet to show improvement having had two starts and a retirement at Cootamundra since resuming and gets his chance here to shine.
Race five has special handicap conditions and with that there are a number of runners that have the opportunity to “break their duck” so to speak.. Mister Satchmo resumed with an impressive second at Canberra last week and should improve here. Clouded Judgement has the services of Blake Jones with a fourth last time out and Blackmagic Shannon is resuming but had good previous form.
Again a race with special handicap conditions is race six with some of these horses having raced at Wagga and Bathurst over the past five days. Pole marker Donegal Annie Mac could be the pace maker over the 1720 metre journey and if left alone in front could be the one to watch. Miss Fifi has ability but needs to be on her best behaviour while Flashman and Line My Pockets should be respected in this type of race. Nathan Hurst will be keen to atone following the narrow defeat last week behind the highly fancied Remember Mac and has drawn well and could lead.
The final race of the night should suit the polemarker Paternity Suit who did race at Wagga last Friday afternoon and looks well placed here from gate one. If she does start she should win but if not, Machgower for Dennis Picker looks the likely winner following a Canberra winner last week. Another top night of racing with free admission and the usual amenities available.
