The National Disability Insurance Scheme has been touted and talked about for several years and now that the time has come for the roll out of the scheme to begin, Lambing Flat Enterprises has found many people have more questions that need to be answered.
“Across the nation, the roll-out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme has received a mixture of reports,” Lambing Flat Enterprises Susan Schiller said.
“Undoubtedly, a wonderful opportunity presents but reaching us through the media, workshops, conferences and word of mouth, much conflicting and even concerning information has come to light.”
Mrs Schiller said recent workshops that had been held in the area cleared up some people’s questions but caused some confusion in other aspects of the scheme’s roll out.
“Recent workshops in Young, Harden, and Cootamundra - conducted by My Choice Matters, Hilltops Council – regarding the Inclusion Act – and National Disability Insurance Agency may have provided some clarity but they may have also added to the complexity and confusion,” Mrs Schiller said.
“Whether as a service receiver, family member or service provider at this point in time it would seem we all have more questions than answers.”
Lambing Flat Enterprises have been helping residents for many years and now they hope through the National Disability Insurance Scheme Discussion Panel Workshop they will be able to shed light on the answers people are seeking.
“By sharing our knowledge we can be more prepared to get the best from National Disability Insurance Scheme,” Mrs Schiller said.
“Therefore, Lambing Flat Enterprises Community Supports would like to invite you to join us, to share our thoughts, knowledge, fears and concerns about any and every aspect of the National Disability Insurance Scheme that comes to mind.”
