Cath wins on a count back Golf NSW medal played

Despite the perfect weather over the Easter weekend there were only 13 ladies who took part in Saturday’s single stableford event at Young Golf Club but that didn’t stop Catherine Aitken from winning the event.

A countback was required for the event when Catherine Aitken and Michele Blizzard both returned 32 pts. Catherine had the better back nine and collected the trophy donated by JollyRoger. Ball comp winners were Catherine, Michele, Libby Plumley (31) and Maureen Perkins (30) on a multiple countback. Lorraine Regan was the winner of the Elegant Timber Shutters and Blinds NTP on the 7th hole.

On Wednesday the second round of the Golf NSW medal competition was played with 15 players taking part. Trophies for the day were kindly donated by Ros Anderson. The Division one winner was Helen Spencer with 75 nett. Gail Hanigan with 75 nett was the Division two winner and Suzanne Manning made the trip from Boorowa worthwhile when she won Division three with 85 nett. Ros also donated a trophy for the least number of putts and this was won by Noela Hardman with 29 on a multiple countback. Ball comp winners were Helen, Gail, Leanne Slater (76) Noela Hardman (76) and Lorraine Regan (76). The medal winners in their respective grades were Leanne Slater (76), Libby Plumley (78) and Pammie McCloy (87). The Elegant Timber Shutters and Blinds NTP on the 7th was won by Leanne Slater and the Keith Simmons Engineering drive and chip on the 13th was won by Betty Stanton.

This weekend the Brian Gales Memorial fourball medley event will be held on Saturday with trophies for the day being donated by Chris Frazer, Curly and Chris Keevil and the Gales Family.

There will be a single event in conjunction if you are not able to find a partner for the fourball event.

On Tuesday April 25 – Anzac Day – a single stableford event will be held with individual events for men and ladies.

The event next Wednesday will be a single par for trophies donated by Laura Caldwell of Bridges Finance. It is great to have Laura as a sponsor for ladies’ golf.

The course is in wonderful condition and it would be great to see you take advantage of the coming events.
