Next Saturday the event is a stableford, sponsored by Steve May. Each group of four players will be playing as a team where the best three scores are multiplied together. Check all the details in the pro-shop prior to hit off.
Next Sunday’s medley will be sponsored by Pizza Hut and the Young Golf Club would like to welcome them on board as an event sponsor. We now have both Carmello's Pizza and Pizza Hut supporting the golf club with a number of vouchers over the year.
A date has been set for the club's Annual Meeting which is Wednesday May 17 at 6.00 pm. Members please treat this meeting as important as the earlier meeting which discussed the amalgamation of the Young Golf Club and the Young Services Club. The golf club is still a separate identity and needs to have a full and vibrant committee in place to run and promote golf in Young. All members should consider standing for the committee.
We have nominated both a scratch and handicap team in the South West pennants. If you would like to play please leave your name with Bryce in the pro-shop as soon as possible.
Coming up on the first weekend in May the club has the Young Open tournament sponsored by the Young Car Wash, Mark Crutcher and John Hobson. Saturday’s event is a fourball and Sunday’s event is a single stroke.
On Tuesday May 9 Young golf Club will be holding the Veterans Open tournament with an event for the men and ladies. The sponsors are Young Tyrepower, Ray White, Fred O'Reilly's Printing and the Telstra shop. Support from Young Golf Club members would be terrific. The timesheets for both events are now in the pro-shop and it would be appreciated if you might nominate early to assist with catering etc.
On Saturday the Gleneagles Function Centre was the venue for a wedding and as usual it looked terrific. Gleneagles are now taking bookings for functions right through until the end of 2018.
