Doug’s Day 2017
The annual Doug’s Day was held last Friday and was once again well attended with all players enjoying the games and doing their best to win a prize.
“We had a sausage sizzle for lunch as well as goodies brought along by members for the morning tea,” Mr Leabeater said.
The winner on the day was Heather Ruhl with Leona Druitt coming in as runner up for the women. The winner of the men’s competition was Ken Langton with Sam Taylor named the runner-up. The two lowest scorers on the day went to Gillian Powell for the ladies and Peter Druitt for the men’s section. Shot prizes were won by Nancy McGregor and Gillian Powell and the lucky players prize went to Leona Druitt.
Cowra Friendship Day
“We thank all players wanting to play in Cowra for the annual Friendship Day,” Mr Leabeater said with anyone interested in attending is asked to please add their name to the list in the club house as numbers need to be notified to the Cowra Croquet Club.
Gecko Sport visit
“We were pleased to have Scott and Geoff from Gecko sport, along with the children during the recent school holidays again and to see them all enjoying themselves,” Mr Leabeater said. “We had some of our members in attendance to help and it is great to see the improvement in their game.”
As was the case in previous holiday visits the children were treated to soft drinks and goodies as the day progressed as well as hamburgers for lunch.
“We look forward to having them again next school holidays,” Mr Leabeater said.
