Young Golf Club held a Medley Stableford Multiplier over the weekend that had 78 men and women taking part in teams with the winners Ron Flynn, Paul Flynn, Simon Sneddon and Nathan Hall who secured their lead with a score of 218 points.

The special and unique multiplier involving the men and ladies attracted a large number of players with the winning team taking out a decisive victory and a very clear margin from Ian Page, Bill Oliver, Ian Broderick and Steve Sell on 202.
Gail Hanigan, Sandra Holmes Lynne Page and Hazel Taylor took out third place on 189.
“The secret to scoring well is all in the mix with all players playing to their full potential,” Young Golf Club’s Bill Kearney said.
The best individual score event was won by Leanne Slater on a countback.
Steve May sponsored the event and also looked after the score board to which the club gives many thanks.
Full results for the weekend are in the results section and there was no play on Wednesday due to wet weather.
Next Saturday is the four ball event as part of the Men’s Open Tournament, then on Sunday day two of the tournament is a single stroke scratch and handicap. Next weekend will be sponsored by Mark Crutcher, the Young Car Wash and John Hobson – Many thanks. In addition we will have special prize for the best visitor on Sunday and a junior event also on Sunday sponsored by the South West Golf Association. There will be a $100.00 cash draw at the presentation on Sunday that you must be present to win. All players are asked to please contact the pro-shop with their entry.
Tuesday May 9, Young Golf Club is holding the Veteran’s Open Tournament for men and ladies, this is a shotgun start at 9.30 am and includes lunch. Young Golf Club welcomes support and asks intending players to enter with the pro-shop to assist with catering numbers. Young Golf Club may still need players for the scratch and handicap pennant teams, anyone interested please let Bryce know as soon as possible.
The scratch pennant will start on May 21 and the handicap on May 28.
Congratulations to Joel Shields who won the A grade matchplay championship by defeating James French on the 19th hole.
Players involved in the B and C grade finals might get those matches played as soon as possible. Harden Veteran’s Open Tournament is on Tuesday May 16 and then Grenfell will host the NSW Veterans Sand Green Mixed 4BBB Championship tournament on Saturday and Sunday May 13 and 14.
