Store owners Brad and Cathy Penson say more than $8500 of assorted Lego was stolen and that the brazen robbery was part of a Lego crime wave.
Police believe that at approximately 3.30am on Easter Monday the thief forced his way through the front door of the Young toy business.
"They just took the large boxes of Lego, the Star Wars, Creations, City and Batman, it's like they already knew what they wanted and they have a ready-made market to sell to," Mr Penson said.
Police believe the offender fled the scene in a vehicle.
Police have released the image of a person captured on CCTV at the time of the incident.
Cootamundra LAC Acting Inspector Kristin Marshall said Police believe this person may be able to assist with their inquiries into the theft.
“This person has a distinct way of walking and police hope somebody from our community may recognise them,” she said.
“In the past public assistance in these matters has greatly assisted Police in solving similar crimes.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Cootamundra Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
