The Burrangong Bears put up a strong first half performance but poor defence in the second half led to a big defeat against the Eugowra Golden Eagles last weekend.

The Eugowra Golden Eagles ran out convincing winners over the Bears 60 to 6.
Captain-Coach Matt Longhurst said he was happy with how the team played in the first half.
“The half time score was 18-6, and we were playing a very strong side who played their game plan well and our defence was not up to scratch. But the boys still gave it their all and that is all I can ask,” he said.
“Ben Logue scored our try and Matt Longhurst converted it. “Matt Longhurst got one point in our Best and Fairest, two points went to Brett Campbell and three points to Ben Logue.
The Bears’ League Tag team lost their game 32 to nil.
Trainer James Sheehan said the scoreboard didn’t reflect how well the girls played.
