The Corcoran Steel U15 Young Cherrypickers showed speed and class to dominate arch rivals Temora in their clash at Cullen Oval last Saturday.

Temora took an early lead but Young soon hit back with man of the match Nick Jenkins crossing out wide, coaches Craig Foster and Macca said some great defence was on display from both teams.
“We manged to get on top when Ethan Newham split the Temora defence to run 40 metres to score. Thomas McIllhatton made no mistake with his kick and we took the lead 10-6,” the coaches said.“Jai Purdie, Connor Corcoran and Cooper Morrison made some great runs with Benny Baker organizing his troops well from dummy half.“Thomas McIllhatton and Nick Jenkins continued their good form scoring before half time.”
“Benny Bonsombiante was good in defence and Kynan Davis and Ethan had plenty of room to move out wide, Ben Baker scored in the second half and took the final score to 26 – 6,” the coaches said.“Cooper Powderly put in another strong performance and Jordan and Nick are getting more confident each week. Liam Carnley didn’t disappoint and a big thanks to Mitch Prest and Matt Noakes.”
In the u7s the Panthers played the Sharks. Tries scored by Jack Willis (2), Toby Edwards (1) Carter Mackenzie (1) and Mitchell Schiller (1). Outstanding tackles by Bently Quinn and Gus Thornhill. Man of the match – Carter Mackenzie. For the Sharks Caden and Jett scored two tries with Joe and Lincoln crossing for one try each. Braxton and Owen played well with Xavier, Edward, William and Ollie being solid in defence. Man of the match- Jett Cullen. The Broncos were up against the Eels in the second match. Tries scored by Zack Milne (4), Braith Anderson (2) and Aidan Mesa (4). Man of the match - Aidan Mesa. The Storm took on the Rabbits in under 9s. Storm Man of the match- Kobe. Great dummy half work by Max, Mitch, Caitlin and Riley. Tries scored for the Storm by Nate Cullen (1) and Jesse Thorp (1). For the Rabbits tries to Nick Bailey (1), Lachlan Shea (1) and Jack Woods (2). Goals converted by Archie Challen, Jarryd Foster and Hamish Hunter. Man of the match- Jack Woods.The Tigers took on the Roosters in under 11s. Samuel Schilt, Memphis Mundy and Cooper Smith were tackling machines. Callum Hall and Dane Mott helped even the teams up.
