Major sponsors for the weekend tournament were Country Car Wash, Mark Crutcher and John Hobson.
Over 100 players participated in Sunday’s competition at Young Golf Club. Joel Shields continued to dominate winning the A-grade scratch open with a one over par of 71 to win by one shot from M. Cochran from Canberra.
Next Saturday is the May Monthly Medal sponsored by Keith Simmons Engineering. Sunday’s medley is a ball sweepstakes.
“Players who are involved in the matchplay championships are asked to play their finals by this coming Sunday,” Mr Kearney said.
Young Golf Club’s Annual General Meeting is on Wednesday May 17 at 6.00 pm in the Gleneagles room.
“Hopefully we will have a good number of members attend,” Mr Kearney said. “We need to elect a full committee of nine to run the club and all it's activities until maybe the merger with the Services club happens. Even when that happens the golf club will still have to run golf.”
Nomination forms for the committee are available at the club.
“Special thanks to all who contributed to running the tournament weekend, very much appreciated.” Mr Kearney said.
