On Saturday May 6, Vinnies Young held a grand opening to celebrate the new shop moving into the old Go-Lo building at 120 Lovell Street.

Hundreds of people turned up to check out the new shop which is seven times as big as the previous one. The new shop also has office facilities next door where Vinnies members deliver their emergency assistance for people seeking help. Fellow community organisations, Marymead and CatholicCare have already started working out of the new offices.
The new shop was officially opened with speeches from Young Citizen of the Year Greg Broderick, president of Vinnies Young conference Patrick Sewell, CEO of St Vincent de Paul Society Canberra/Goulburn Barnie van Wyk and a blessing by Fr Allan Crowe. The hundreds of people who attended enjoyed the entertainment, face painting and specials in store.
The Vinnies Young shop is open Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 2 pm.
