All the games at the Young Bowling Club on Thursday were closely contested with most margins less than seven shots. Skill and determination saw the vouchers going to Stewart Taylor and Les Fanning who won with a margin of 13 shots.
On Saturday 26 players took to the greens to take part in afternoon play. A spokesman for the Young Bowling Club said the team selections worked very well with five of the six games played having a margin of four shots or less. The only players to record a big margin were Wally Chater and Harold Anderson who won their game by 20 shots. The big margin meant that Wally and Harold were clearly the winners of the Penrose Funerals vouchers. Other winning teams on Saturday at the Young Bowling Club were David Donges, Tim Carpenter and Denis Rosen, Ian Gailey and David Ward, Ted Loader and Vic Brown, Garry Fish and Col Chapman and Mark Brownlie and Kevin Porter.
