Race one
Racing commences on Friday night with a $5,100 Young Tyrepower Pace over 2100 metres that has attracted a capacity field of 10. It would be nice, and indeed rewarding, for all concerned if the locally trained horse Forest Fury can break through for a win following some eye catching performances over recent weeks. Although not well drawn, a clear run through could see a win for the Jeff Brown trained pacer. Dangers are Wake Up Quinn and Gregs Legacy in what should be a great opening race.
Race three
Bathurst free lance driver John O’Shea has the drive behind the Lester Hewitt trained polemarker Our Braxton in race three and with four wins from five starts looks the winner from Intransit and the Steve Turnbull trained Dillon, although drawn in an awkward gate.
Race four
Race four will be run over the 2100 metres and here Whosashadylady from gate two for Amanda Turnbull should lead and win following some excellent recent runs. Polemarker Ruth Shannon, to be driven by Kylie Barnes has had two good placings recently and will be forward throughout while Lucky Lyla and Modern Attitude look to be the main dangers in what should result in a very competitive race.
Race six
Race six is the feature race and here the chances appear to be Lyka Version who has had good form of late and is well drawn with Rocknroll Idol and Satellite Village the other chances in what will be a race well worth a trip out to the track to witness.
Race seven
The three best drawn in gates one, two, three look to be the main chances in this race, possibly Artful Lombo from gate one the best of the three.
Race eight
Young Lock and Safe Services could be called upon to secure the winnings if Bold Outlaw is successful here in race eight. The form is good and with Amanda Turnbull in the gig the possibilities are endless. The Shane Hillier trained pacer Keep Quiet ran a very good second first up from a spell and has the draw to follow the number one selection out while polemarker Jimmy Wirrawee won two starts back and may reproduce that winning form here. With locally trained pacers a little bit thin on the ground at this big meeting, nice to see David Micallef and Peter Sykes represented in race eight.
Race nine
Polemarker Diamond Thief almost caused a major upset at Canberra on Monday night, sitting up outside the leader for most of the journey before finishing a creditable fourth and from gate one has a good chance to collect some well earned prize money. The race is for pacers with no lifetime wins and someone is going to be very happy if they can collect the cash. With Diamond Thief a definite chance in the 1720 metre race, the dangers are Lockton Art from a wide gate, Dexter Sun and possibly Mister Satchmo.
Good racing is assured and remember admission is free.
