Almost all of the nine games played were closely contested with just two big margins.
Albert Carter and Stewart Taylor won the vouchers with a margin of 20 shots and they finished just in front of Brian Christie and Kevin Porter who also had a big win with a margin of 18 shots.
Saturday play
The rain on Friday during the day and night made play on Saturday doubtful and it was decided to play the standard games but not to play championship games.
There was a smaller than usual attendance with only 18 players nominating to play.
The green was a fair bit slower due to the rain but the afternoon conditions were fine and warm.
The highest margin for the afternoon was nine shots for the triples team of Andrew Hutchison, Bill Maloney and Vic Brown and they won the Penrose Funerals sponsored vouchers.
Other winning combinations were Alan Gall and Tom Preston with four shots, Ian Schofield and Damien Miller with two shots and Greg Woods and Joe Chambers with five shots.
Sunday play
There were 14 players who took part in Young Bowling Club’s Sunday morning bowls competition with the scores for the winning teams 13, 14 and 15 points.
The overall winners on Sunday morning were Alan Cooke, Mark Brownlie and Bill Standen.
