This Saturday the CWA shop in Boorowa Street will be celebrating with CWA members and volunteers sharing memories and other goodies from over the years since the shop’s opening.
The shop has always been popular over the years with many visitors to town and locals purchasing cakes, slices, biscuits, crafts as well as many other items over the past 45 years.
Open from 9 am on Saturday morning the shop will be selling their handmade and home cooked wares that have made the shop such an icon in Young.
The Country Women’s Association Shop first opened its doors on May 25, 1972 after CWA members from Quandialla, Bribbaree and Young held meetings to vote on it and 45 years later the shop is still going strong.
