Local resident Paul Parker said when he questioned Council they did not take him seriously.

“When I pointed out the error no apology was given just an admission that a mistake was made,” he said.

“I was told that new notices would be issued but I have yet to receive one.”

But Hilltops Council General Manager Anthony McMahon said water accounts will be reissued.

“We acknowledge water account holders in the Young area have recently received water notices that incorrectly reflect the last billing period information,” he said.

“The notices distributed include the correct due amount, however the notices indicate that this is an amount in arrears, Council will be reissuing the correct notices which have extended the due date from June 21 to June 28, 2017.

“This change only effects water account holders of the Young area and not other parts of the Hilltops.”
