League tag
The Cherryette’s just did not play to their best last weekend and they were lucky to get away with the win. From the kick off the girls just had not switched on. Lazy tags and dropped balls did not help them but in the first three minutes the Cherryette’s were able to go over for a lucky try from Victoria Hegyi where she caught them in an overlap – her first try for the season. Taking the lead 4-0. Within minutes of the second half beginning Jess McInerney put Anna Hall through for a try under the posts, Laura Eastlake successfully converted the try. Our speedy Gonzalez Ash Carroll (who played the in the Riverina team on the Saturday) was able to put a few fake passes in and get a 70m try. However, simple missed tags and a sloppy defensive line gave the Blues the opportunity to score again right near the post. Taking the score to 12-16 with five minutes to go, this saw the Cherryette’s defend the best they could all game. They were able to keep them out and the full time score being 16-12 to the Cherryette’s. Elevations Restaurant’s players player went to Sophie Mewton. The girls will need to work extremely hard this week at training as they are taking on the Bulldogs who have just came off a massive win 50-0 over Tumut.- Jess Mcinerney
18s
In the 18s clash against Tumut the Pickers got off to a slow start. With Tumut scoring four tries in the first half and the Pickers only scoring one. With the score being 24-6 at half time. In the second half we kicked into gear and got another three tries in with Will Manwaring converting all tries to make it 24 all. After defending hard in the last 10 minutes Tumut scored and converted to make it 30-24. It was a great comeback by the 18s, unfortunately they couldn't get the points. Tries went to Will Manwaring 2, Jayden Cutting 1, Kye Tiedamen 1, and Connor Hall 1. – Steve Carroll
