Magistrate Peter Dare SC sentenced the pair in Cootamundra Local Court to a 12 month suspended sentence on a Section 12 bond for the theft and movement of the cattle worth more than $100,000.
A joint investigation revealed that the cattle were stolen from a property near Cunnamulla in Queensland. The cattle were subsequently returned to a property owned by the victim near Young.
A Section 12 bond is also known as a Good Behaviour Bond. Provided the terms of the good behaviour bond are obeyed the jail sentence will not come into effect.
